Music-Performance Sports, Goatverse to launch Hampton Roads Division of the Song vs Song Sports league in 2027

HAMPTON ROADS, VA - May 21st, 2026 - Music-Performance Sports (MPS) and Goatverse announced a joint venture to launch a Hampton Roads Division of the Song vs Song Sports League in 2027, marking the start of a new community-based division model for the competition.
The league, also known as SvS, has hosted games on a national level since 2022. Under the new expansion plan, MPS will begin building community-based divisions, starting with Hampton Roads.
Organizers said the Hampton Roads division will include both online and live games, creating a hybrid format designed to reach local audiences in venues and on digital platforms.
The region holds special significance for Music-Performance Sports. Founder and CEO Juan A. Thompson hosted the organization’s first game in Virginia Beach on April 25, 2015, at Shaka’s Live, establishing Hampton Roads' historical relevance to the sport.
“Hampton Roads is where this started for us,” Thompson said. “After growing SvS nationally, it makes sense to begin the community-based division here at home.”
Music-Performance Sports and Goatverse said the Hampton Roads launch is intended to create a stronger local framework for artists, fans, venues, and partners, while building regional identity around recurring competition.
