THIS IS NOT A BEAT BATTLE,
THIS IS A PRO SPORT!
If selected in the draft, each producer will compete using one of their submitted beats, showcased in that week's online game. Their music is placed directly in front of thousands of engaged listeners who are not just streaming passively, but actively scoring, analyzing, and participating in the outcome. Each game is structured and promoted with the discipline and intensity of a professional sports organization. Official press releases, scheduled game announcements, digital marketing campaigns, and coordinated social media coverage position every game as a headline event. The presentation is deliberate, consistent, and elevated. This professional-grade promotion does more than generate views. It builds brand equity for the producer, strengthens audience loyalty, and reinforces the legitimacy of the competition. By operating within a true sports framework, complete with scheduled season, rankings, playoffs, and structured exposure, the league creates meaningful, career-building visibility rather than fleeting online attention
WHAT IS BEAT VS BEAT?
Beat vs. Beat Sports League (BvB) is the 1st-ever and official sport of competitive music production, governed by the Music-Performance Sports (MPS) platform. Players drafted will play in an online 6-game regular season, which includes a power rankings, with the top 6 players clinching a playoff run for the BvB-US National Championship in July.
HOW DOES THE DRAFT WORK?
Step 1 – Submit Your Best Beat (Feb 15 – Mar 15)
Producers submit one beat for evaluation. Submissions close March 15 or if we reach 50 total entries prior.
Step 2 – League Evaluation & Base Points
Before the Draft opens, the BvB Draft Committee listens to each eligible beat and scores it across three core categories on a scale from 1-10: Originality, Quality, and Marketability.
Those scores form each candidate’s Base Draft Points
Step 3 – The BvB Draft (April 15–18)
The Draft runs four rounds over April 15–18.
In each round, public voting runs from 10 AM to 10 PM.
-
The public listens and rates each beat on a 1–10 scale.
-
Those ratings produce an Average Public Rating Score (APRS) at the close of the round.
-
Each candidate’s overall draft position is determined by a point system combining:
-
League Base Draft Points (from the Draft Committee)
-
Average Public Rating Score (APRS) (from the public)
-
At the end of each round, the top 2 players by total points are drafted to the roster.
Across four rounds, that creates the 8-producer inaugural BvB roster.
Step 4 – Regular Season & Playoffs
The 6-week regular season kicks off the week of May 25. Players compete in pursuit of a playoff berth to contend for the BvB-US National Championship in July.
FAQ
Q: Why is there a league fee? A: Once drafted, producers officially join the Beat vs Beat League as a rostered player. The $125 league participation fee covers the infrastructure that powers the season, game scheduling, scoring systems, ranking system, and league operations.
Q: Who actually decides who gets drafted, fans or the league? A: Both. The league’s Draft Committee sets Base Draft Points, and the fans create the Average Public Rating Score (APRS) each round. The combined total points determine who gets drafted.
Q: What happens at the end of each round of the Draft? A: The top 2 candidates by total points at the close of that round are drafted to the BvB roster.
Q: Are the same beats used in every round? A: Each candidate’s beat carries its Base Draft Points, and the public rating for that beat in each round updates their APRS and total score.
Q: How many producers end up on the roster? A: 8 producers total – 2 drafted in each of the 4 rounds.
