MPSL Announces Official SvS Kickoff Game: RED vs BLUE

The Music-Performance Sports League (MPSL) announces SvS: RED vs BLUE, the official kickoff game of the Song vs Song (SvS) regular season. In this special game, the full SvS roster will be split into the RED TEAM and BLUE TEAM for the league’s only showcase of the full team game format, giving fans an early look at this season’s competitors in direct head-to-head action.

While RED vs BLUE is not part of the official 8-week regular season schedule, the stakes remain high: all points earned during this exhibition are official and will contribute to each player’s standing in the SvS Power Rankings as the league enters Week 1.

PUBLIC SCORING

• Public Rating Score (PRS): Fans rate each song 1–10.

• Scoring Window: Wednesday, 01/28 @ 12:00 AM – Saturday, 01/31 @ 11:59 PM

• APRS (Average Public Rating Score): Calculated per player from fan submissions.

JUDGES SCORING

• Scoring Window: Wednesday, 01/28 @ 12:00 AM – Saturday, 01/31 @ 11:59 PM

• Judges award 1–10 scores in three key categories:

  • Delivery

  • Song Quality

  • Radio Readiness

These results generate each player’s Performance Points (PPs).

DETERMINING WINNERS

Final game results will be announced on Sunday, 02/01.

Individual Match Winners: Total Score = APRS + PPs. The higher combined total secures the individual matchup victory.

Team Winner: The team with the highest cumulative total across all players wins the RED vs BLUE Game.

POWER RANKINGS IMPACT

SvS: RED vs BLUE will directly influence the league’s early competitive landscape. All APRS and PPs earned are official and will establish the first SvS Power Rankings, which will carry into Week 1 of the regular season, creating early momentum, narrative, and rivalry potential.
