FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hampton Roads, VA — 08/11/2025 — The Music-Performance Sports League (MPSL) is proud to announce the launch of the Ghana Division of its groundbreaking Song vs Song (SvS) league, set to debut in 2026. This marks the first-ever international expansion for SvS, ushering in a new era for competitive music performance on a global scale.

The Ghana Division will be officially commissioned by Kwesi Hayford, President of the Esports Association, Ghana, who will oversee all operations and strategic development for the division. Hayford’s leadership and experience in building competitive platforms in Ghana position the new division for rapid growth and success.
Song vs Song (SvS) is MPSL’s flagship league, a dynamic, digital competition where artists face off head-to-head with their original songs in online games. Players are scored through a combination of fan voting and professional judges’ ratings, creating a pro sports-style league for music that blends performance, skill, and showmanship.
“The Ghana Division is more than just an expansion...it’s the beginning of a global network for Music-Performance Sports,” said Juan A. Thompson, Commissioner of the Music-Performance Sports League. “Ghana’s vibrant music culture and thriving creative scene make it the perfect home for our first international league.”
The Ghana Division will serve as a talent incubator, providing local and regional artists a competitive platform to showcase their music, gain exposure, and connect with new audiences worldwide.
The inaugural season will kick off in 2026, with open registration for artists announced later this year.
