July 15, 2025
Newport News, VA – The Music-Performance Sports League (MPSL) has officially released the 2025 Song vs Song (SvS) roster, marking a groundbreaking milestone in the evolution of music and sports. For the first time in history, digital player cards have been issued to competitive music artists, ushering in a new era where independent artists are recognized as Music-Sports Athletes.
This inaugural roster includes 12 elite independent artists from across the U.S. and around the globe, all drafted into the MPSL’s Solo Division to compete head-to-head in the 2025 SvS season. Each player card is fully digital and includes the artist’s name, hometown, performance stats, and exclusive visuals, forming the foundation of a collectible ecosystem designed to reward both fans and players.
“These aren’t just songs anymore. These aren’t just artists. These are competitors, and this is the future of music as a sport,” said Juan A. Thompson, Founder & Commissioner of the MPSL. “Issuing the first-ever Music-Performance Sports player cards means these artists now carry the same cultural weight as athletes—competing in a structured league, ranked weekly, and immortalized digitally.”
