In the age of streaming, where music discovery is often left to algorithms and social media trends, a new digital sport is rewriting the rules of engagement between independent artists and their fans: Song vs Song (SvS), the league. This groundbreaking competition format fuses the thrill of professional sports with the heart of music culture, creating a new lane where songs are the game and independent artists are the athletes.
What Is the Song vs Song League?
SvS is the world’s first digital professional sport built entirely around music competition. Here, independent artists go head-to-head, not in rap battles or talent shows, but in structured, team-based matchups where their songs are judged in real-time. Listeners become fans and scorekeepers, casting live votes while industry judges evaluate performance based on three key categories: Lyrics, Instrumental, and Radio Readines.
Much like basketball or football, SvS is built on a season-based format. In its inaugural season 2025, 32 independent artists are drafted and split into 8 teams. Over a 7 week regular season, these teams face off in scheduled matchups, culminating in playoffs and a championship battle that crowns the best-performing artist and team in the league.

How It Works
Integrated with Spotify/Apple Music, fans can listen to song matchups and vote in real time. Each match is scored using a hybrid system, with fan votes and judges' scores to determine match winners. This ensures that popularity and quality go hand in hand, leveling the playing field for rising talent.
The gameplay feels like watching your favorite sports team, but instead of slam dunks or touchdowns, it’s the performance of the song that wins the match. Each artist brings their best track to the matchup, competing to climb the league standings, make the playoffs, and ultimately win the U.S. Championship.
A League Built for Independent Artists
What makes SvS revolutionary is its unwavering focus on independent artists. In a music industry often dominated by gatekeepers, SvS offers a new kind of exposure — one that rewards skill, creativity, and audience connection over industry clout. It’s not about how many followers an artist has; it’s about how their song performs in the arena.
For many, this is the first opportunity to play on a national stage with the same intensity, stakes, and fan engagement you’d find in traditional sports. SvS treats artists like athletes, their music like gameplay, and their fans like the home crowd.
The Future of Music Meets the Future of Sports
SvS isn’t just a competition — it’s a movement. It reimagines music promotion as an interactive sport, giving fans the power to influence outcomes and discover new talent in a dynamic, gamified experience. It also opens the door for franchising, live events, and brand partnerships, positioning SvS as a cultural phenomenon that could redefine how we consume music.
As the digital and creative worlds continue to collide, SvS stands at the intersection — a fresh, competitive platform that’s more than just a league. It’s the beginning of a new professional sport.
And in this game, your song is your superpower.
